Updates: First Tattoo & Mini Summer Haul!

Nails: Jelly Sandwich

Hey, guys!

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’ve been pretty busy with school since the end of the semester is approaching and I have quite a few final papers to write.

Lately I’ve been seeing a lot of a new nail look called jelly/glitter sandwiches. What these are is 2 coats of a jelly nail polish, a coat of a glitter or flakie polish, and another coat of the jelly polish. The jelly polish cases in the glitter to give a cool effect. So the jelly coats are the “bread” and the glitter is the filling of the sandwich.

Here is my first attempt at a jelly sandwich look. The polishes I used are:

• Spoiled (by Wet ‘n’ Wild) in Did I Dye It Too Blonde?
• Love & Beauty (by Forever 21) in Purple/Blue Glitter

I think it turned out pretty cool! I’ve been getting into neons lately because summer is coming up and this is my first highlighter-yellow polish. In person, probably because of the blue and purple glitters, the yellow looks a bit more green on my nails. They kind of remind me of a banana, lol. The jelly polish doesn’t have a very shiny finish, so I might add a topcoat.

Outfit of the Day: Vintage Cola

Hey, there!

This is actually yesterday’s outfit, but I’m only getting around to posting it now… sorry!
But this outfit features a pull-over sweater that has, in my opinion, sort of a vintage feel to it. Plus it mentions Coke… and I love Diet Coke, haha.

The Hair
Yes, I did dye my hair! I used the L’Oreal Healthy Look Creme Gloss Color in Intense Light Auburn. I washed it and let it dry naturally. Then I straightened my bangs. I added some Suave Vibrant Shine Spray.

Lovely Spring Eyeshadows

Hey, guys!

So I was at Rite Aid the other day and noticed that all NYC cosmetics were 40% off. I saw this cute little eyeshadow duo and thought for only about $1.70, why not try it out?

This is the NYC City Duet Eyeshadow in SoHo Delight.

The shade on the left is a very pretty grey-toned lavender color. The shade on the right is a shimmery mossy green color.

I used them both on my eyes yesterday (over the Wet ‘n’ Wild Fergie primer) and they look very pretty together. At first I thought they’d look too weird or intense to wear as a daytime look, but they actually apply very subtly. I wore the lavender color all over the lid and used the green color nearer to my inner corner, but blended it up into the lavender.
If you can find this eyeshadow duo, I highly recommend it. It’s perfect for a soft, every day springtime look. As I said, I got mine 40% off, but regular price it’s only about $3- which is still a great deal!

Today was such a nice day here in NYC. Almost 80 degrees! So I wore a very summer-y outfit.
